Established in 1962, Compax, Inc. started just as Southern California was exploding into a global hub for aerospace, electronics, and automotive manufacturing. While other machine shops chose the traditional path of taking massive blocks of metal and shaving them down—wasting time, energy, and costly material—Compax bet its future on Powder Metallurgy (PM).

To the untrained eye, the raw materials arriving at the Blue Gum facility look like dense, heavy bags of gray sand. But these are highly engineered, precise metallic formulations—ranging from custom copper and bronze mixtures to specialized alloy steels.
